Success… having success… being successful… what does that even mean??
Something to think about. If you want to be successful in life, have you ever giving it a thought what success means to you?
Having millions on the bank? Driving a fancy car? Having a big house?
Go to bed every day with a smile? Having time during the day to spend quality time with your kids? To earn money with what it is you love to do and gives you energy? Having a house that you can call “home” no matter the size of it?
So the challenge is, if you want to succeed in life, you first have to know what success means to you. If you do not put a destination in your GPS, you are likely to get lost, get in a traffic jam and you will properly never even arrive. Or at a shitty camp site when you were longing about a sunny beach apartment.
So how can you define what success is for you?
It is not counting the dollars on your bank account.
It is not having a job you hate but you bloody studied and worked so hard for the get.
It is not having the latest smartphones and gadgets.
Success is knowing what it is you love to do and feel on a daily and consistent base.
Where you want to wake up for every day.
What puts a smile on your face.
What lights you up, over and over again!
That is where you start. And the process of doing that, is so much fun! I do this exercise a lot with brave women I work with. Who are willing to scratch on the surface of how society define success. Who know that with having their own version of success, will basically… just make them happier! And not every now and then, but on a daily base. Because, if you think about it, the dollar amount on your account, is not what is really making you happy. The things you can do with it will help you with feeling happy. Doing what you love and being able to do the things you love… that is a whole other level of success and happiness!
I wrote this poem. This poem about what success means to me
My successful day
Lying in my bed at night,
All I can feel is inner peace inside.
With on my face a smile,
A smile that has been there for a while.
From the laughter that was coming my way,
A feeling of joy I experienced throughout the whole day.
I know I live my truth when I hear my heart sing,
And dare to dance upon that melody in every moment I am in.
The path I follow is one of my soul,
Aligning my heart and head with it is what makes me whole.
Now I will sleep tight and let my dreams sparkle in the night,
Wake up with new energy to spread my forever shining light.
Is there money in it? No. Is it about what I specifically will do? No. it is about how I consistently want to feel. What I want to experience.
If you are up to experience more success and happiness during your day, I have something special! Get a copy of the “Feel successful every day” worksheet. This is a fun three day awareness to see what is lightning you up with joy and make you feel successful! If you would love to experience a deeper level of achievement and joy on a daily base, make sure you grab a copy of it!
“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”
